Our Weekend...

It was an interesting weekend in the Bandzuch household.  We had some great friends come and stay with us...but we also had issues with our furnace, Bill's car, a power outage in our neighborhood, and finally, the whole family was` struck by a TERRIBLE flu on Sunday night into Monday.  I got so sick that I had to go into the clinic and get fluids.  Well, we are all on the mend now.

Despite all of this we did have some fun.  Most of these pictures are from Sunday afternoon.  We met up with everyone downtown and went to the Guthrie.  Then we walked the Stone Arch Bridge.  After this everyone came back to our house for a feast that Edson whipped up.

Out for a walk with Gus on Saturday afternoon.

Water, Ducks and Rocks!

Here is what gets us really excited: The park by our house (which is on a Lake) just put in a public dock, AND there are lots of duck and geese on this lake, AND there are lots of little stone to throw into the lake.  Really, does life get any better?

On Wednesday Gus and I walked over and spent a good long time out on the dock.  Even though I brought a bucket and filled it with stones for him to throw into the lake, he insisted on running up and down the dock to get one stone at a time to throw into the lake.  When each rock splashed into the lake it was followed by big belly laughs.  A good time, but he wore himself out and went to bed early that night.

I had to share these because I was so pleased with the lighting.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Running back to get more stones.

This is Gus's latest dance move.  When I sing to him his just moves his head back and forth (and excepts me to do the same).  His other sweet dance move I've been seeing a lot of lately is this really quick march in place.  He just might grow up to be as cool as mom and dad.

Finally, thanks to Bubba for the gear!  He does look good in Black and Yellow, doesn't he!

Gus- post surgery pic

Thanks to everyone that was praying for little Gus this last week.  The surgery went well and he was 100% back to himself on Sunday.  I took this picture Saturday morning.  He was not quite back to normal and wanted to snuggle with his dad.

A few pictures of guess who!

Here are the highlights: I found a toy lawn mower for Gus second-hand, and the two have basically been inseparable since.  We have had a couple of very cold days around here, so we have been playing in the basement a lot and had to get out the warm clothes.  I go to a Bible study on Monday and Thursday mornings.  Both have free child care and Gus LOVES it.  He doesn't even look back at me, let alone cry when I drop him off.  He loves other kids, and he loves playing with toys other than his own.

That's about it.  I have another OB appointment this afternoon, but I have been feeling perfectly fine, so I bet it is going to be another boring 5 minute appointment.

Miss you all,
Nancy and Gus

It's another cool morning, so Gus wore his new Steeler's outfit from Bubba.  He looks good in it!

Pictures from the weekend--finally!

Is it already Wednesday night?!? I am so sorry that these pictures are so slow in coming.  We went to the park on Friday afternoon and then again on Saturday morning with daddy.  The park is only a few blocks from our house, and although Gus' really only likes to climb up and down the stairs over and over, we have fun there, especially when daddy is along!

One of the fun things about the park is that it is only a little lake.  Gus loves to walk down to the end of the dock and look at all the ducks and geese (it isn't a very clear lake!)

And then, Daddy and Gus went down the BIG slide!

They were going a little fast at the end...but Billy reacted quickly!  Gus wasn't interested in going down again, though.

He did, however, enjoy lots of other slides!

All and all it was a fun weekend, although busy!  There was a baby shower, birthday party, my brother moved into seminary and Billy's uncle Bob moved to Minnesota.  All good things, and we are happy to have some of Bill's family near-by.

It was a cold day today, and a super hot day yesterday, so we haven't taken any pictures yet this week.  I will get on it!  Also, please remember Gus in your prayers on Friday.  His surgery is scheduled for 10:45am.  Also, keep Bill and I in your prayers--we probably will have a harder time with this than Gus!  We went to the hospital on Monday night for a tour and to ask questions.  I left feeling better and worse.  He will be well cared for, but surgery is a big deal.  I can't believe we have to do this to my little boy!  But we are reassured that it will be a simple procedure and that other than this he is in perfect health.  Chances are he is just going to have a few uncomfortable days coming up here.

Thats all for now.

A weekend with Baba and Pappy

We were lucky enough to have two special house guests this weekend: Bill's parents, Baba and Pappy. It was a low-key weekend, full of food, backyard fun and relaxation.  Gus was very happy to have two new playmates and the time went much too quickly.  Here are a few of the shots we got while they were here.

Out in the yard playing right when the grandparents first arrived.

Relaxing after an afternoon at the splash park.

Swinging with Baba

The story of going down the slide...

How many adults does it take to get Gus down the slide...evidently 3!

After dinner.  Notice the war-wound he picked up at the splash park!

Playing at the park Saturday morning.

Yard games Saturday afternoon.

Snuggling in his rocking chair with blanket and monkey Sunday morning.

Blowing bubbles Sunday afternoon.

Playing with all his new toys from his adoring grandparents.

It was a wonderful trip!  Thanks for all the fun and the memories,
Nancy, Billy and Gus
