Gus got back into the Johnny Jumper this afternoon and had a blast!

All is well here.  We spent the day inside since it has gotten so so chilly!

And that is about all we have been up to lately.  Bill and I are working on painting our basement and turning it into a playroom.  I am making a rug out of Bill's old t-shirts, and although it is slowly coming together, I think it will turn out well and it will add a lot of color to our future playroom.  Also, Gus has decided he loves carrots.  I cooked up a whole bunch of carrots yesterday and he can't seem to get enough of them.  He still isn't very interested in moving, and we are beginning to wonder if he will ever crawl.  Every day we try to get him moving...but I just know that as soon as he does start moving I am going to long for these days when I can put him down and he stays put!  Finally, please say a little prayer for Bill today.  He is under a lot of stress at work.  It is budget time!

Dirty boy takes a bath in the sink

Lately we have been having some real poop disasters.  We had one notable tragedy at the clinic on Tuesday...  We had another issue on Wednesday, and another this morning!  Maybe we need to get the next size diaper!  But, because of this Gus has been taking several quick baths in the sink.  He likes these, and here are some pictures from yesterday.

 We had fun...but at the end of bath time Gus figured out how to turn on the water.  So, this morning when he was again a mess we went to the big sink, and there was a lot less clean up!

My mom spends a few days with us.

Last week my mom came to spend a few days with us.  She felt like she was missing out on Gus's development it was a good time for her to come visit her parents and sister.  We had fun.  I went along with her to visit my aunt Cheryl, who is always a wonderful host.  It was a relaxing couple of days, but of course my mom found time to snap some pictures!

Gus's new toy.  He plays a few notes (and looks to me to clap each time he does), but then he just likes to tip it over...  Oh well.  It is the first step in his musical journey!

 It has turned COLD here today.  A windchill of -17 degrees, so needless to say, I don't think we will be venturing out today!

birthday party fun and looking out the window

Good morning!
Here are just a few pictures.  Last Saturday we went to a birthday party for my cousin's three boys (one 3 yr old and twins that turned one). The party was at an indoor play place and even little Gus got in on the fun!

and yes, these are pictures of Gus standing on his own!

And finally, here are some pictures of Gus looking out the window--one of his favorite things to do!  As you can see, he isn't into crawling or rolling, but he loves pulling on things and standing up next to them.

PS, it was over 50 degrees here yesterday (January in Minnesota!!!), but the weather man says it will be looking and feeling like a real winter by this time tomorrow.
