(Almost) sitting up pictures

Gus and I just took these pictures.  He is still a ways from sitting all my himself, but he is getting close to being able to sit against something.  Here are his latest attempts, and as you can see, we still have some work to do!

So, we started out sitting up...

But then he fell to one side,

and decided to suck on his hand a little bit.

So mom helped him sit up again...

and he likes sitting up, so he smiled!

But oh no!

Sitting is hard!

So, we sat up one more time...

But by this point he was tired, so he just laid down again.

We love you all!

The last couple days

Once again, it has been a couple days since my last post.  Gus is doing well.  He is recovering from his cold, but with the weather changing, and actually starting to feel like October, he misses our long walks we used to take.  And, right now he is whining, so this will be quick!

On Friday we took out the Johnny-Jumper for the first time.  Gus isn't jumping yet, but he liked being in there, and he especially liked when Mom bounced him.  He squealed!

Then on Saturday morning we had lunch with some good friends.  Here is a picture of Gus with the Olsons, including baby Ava/Oliver!

Ross getting some dad practice in...even though he doesn't need any.  He is going to be GREAT!

Then Saturday night we took some early Halloween pictures.  Thanks Auntie Tina for the costume and Bubba for the Halloween Teddybear.

Sunday morning daddy and Gussy got up and made breakfast.  It was wonderful!  Also, note that Gus now has a tray for his Bumbo chair.  It makes playing with toys much easier!

Sunday Morning pictures...still in our pjs!

And, on Sunday Gus took his pushie and fell right asleep!  What a treat!

Then we woke up and played with dad while mom went to work for a couple hours.

And today he was being cute in his entertainment center again.  And, his feet are almost touching the bottom of the entertainment center!

These last pictures are just to show how close he is getting to rolling over...

Nap time!

We love you all,

Gus around the house

It was a rainy day here yesterday, so Gus and I had a nice day inside.  We worked a little on rolling over, but he is just too content to lay there and smile at me.  He isn't interested in very much else, but I don't mind!

Notice in these pictures all the toys laying around him...that he really isn't that interested in.  He looks a little crazy in some of these pictures, but that is because I caught him mid laugh.  He is such a happy good baby!

When dad got home from work Gus was happy to sit on his lap.  I think these pictures, where he had his arms on the table like an adult are so cute!

And then it was time to be done taking pictures, and get Gus his supper!

We love you all,

Bill took Tuesday off and we went to the zoo!

One of the best things about having a baby is that Bill and I get to do all the kid things again!  We took advantage of what might have been that last day of crazy beautiful October Minnesota weather (the weather man said it was "once in a lifetime weather") and went to the zoo.  Bill and I had a great time.  I think Gus enjoyed it too!

Here daddy and Gus are watching a playful seal.  Gus was actually watching it.  The seal was one of the only animals inside for the winter.  All of the other animals were still outside enjoying the 80 degree weather.

Some cute brown bears cooling off.

This is a very playful polar bear that we watched bounce on a barrel and then jump in the water.  I love the zoo!

And there were zebras too!

After the zoo we went home and worked on the yard again.  Bill is all about gathering leaves this season, now that he has his "worx tri vac"!  Gus enjoyed the afternoon with us, playing on the front steps while we worked.  After that we had dinner and Gus face-timed with his Aunt Tina while we ate.  It was a good day, and it was so nice to have Bill home on a Tuesday!

We love you all,
